Exchange Programme update…

15 young people from Youthlife and Child Bereavement UK (Cheshire) took part in an exchange programme beginning in February 2019. Funded by BBC Children in Need, the programme gave the young people, aged from 13-19 years, opportunities to meet and learn from other young people who have experienced bereavement and loss. The first part of the exchange took place in Carrowmena Activity Centre, Northern Ireland, in February and the second leg was at Colomendy Outdoor Activity Centre, North Wales, in June. Everyone had a go at a range of challenging activities designed to build team-working skills, confidence and trust in each other. Participants also got the chance to visit each others’ organisations and to learn about how Youthlife and Child Bereavement UK support young people. In the next stage of the exchange we plan to each introduce into our organisations an idea or activity that we have leaned about from our exchange partners.
